Why Hire a Day of Coordinator?

Ok, so you don’t have a wedding planner, so I am assuming that you want to plan your entire wedding from A to Z….I get it.  You will probably do a kick butt job, because admit it, anyone that wants to plan their entire wedding has a type A personality, which means that they will have a picture perfect wedding.  I understand you, because I have YOUR personality. In fact, I respect you for taking on this big endeavor.

So, go ahead plan your heart out, but I will give you one piece of advice from experience, if you are not going to hire a wedding planner to plan your wedding, at least hire a day of wedding coordinator.  Make sure that you hire a day of coordinator.  Why you ask?  You are not two people.  You are going to be INCREDIBLY BUSY on your wedding day from the moment you wake up until you go to bed, and there is no way that you can or would want to focus on the details of planning your wedding the day of.  You will want to have fun with your bridesmaids getting ready, and walk down that aisle carefree. This is how it should be.  You need to have FUN on your wedding day.

I would recommend hiring a professional that you can trust to coordinate all of the vendors the day of, make sure that the event is decorated to your liking, and that every ‘I’ is dotted and ‘T’ is crossed.  After all, you put a lot of time and effort planning your big day, and you want to make sure that it is executed properly.

What is the difference between a “wedding planner” and a “day of Coordinator?”

A day-of coordinator helps the couple with the day of coordination.  The couple has already chosen the venue and the vendors. The coordinators role is to managing all the details the day of that the bride and groom have spent months planning to make sure that everything comes together in the end exactly as the couple imagined.  A coordinator allows the couple, wedding party and guests to enjoy their special day without the stress.

A wedding planner goes beyond just the day-of the wedding.  A planner will work with the couple for up to a year before the big day helping with everything from design creation, budget management, stationary/invitations, vendor booking and suggestions, and contract negotiation or review along with coordinating everything the day of the wedding.  A wedding planner is there to help reduce stress by managing and organizing all the details from start to finish.  This is a great option for couples that want assurance that they are hiring reliable vendors and getting the most for their budget or have demanding busy lifestyles and schedules.

A wedding planner will be there for you every step of the way to help create the wedding of your dreams.  A good wedding planner will make your dreams of your wedding day become a reality.  They will not make decisions for you or take away the fun of planning, but will be there to help you make informed decisions.
